Setting up a London virtual office gives your business an address for correspondence and a way to receive its post while you work elsewhere. The useful starting point is deciding what you need the address to do, then choosing how your mail will reach you.
With City Virtual Hub, the sequence is straightforward: choose a mail package, complete signup, provide the information requested for your account checks, and wait for activation confirmation. You can then start using your authorised address at 49 Greek Street, Soho, London W1D 4EG.
Make a short list before choosing a service. Do you want a business correspondence address for clients and suppliers, a registered office for a limited company, a director service address, or a combination?
CVH's mail packages include registered-office and director-service-address use, subject to the account being accepted and activated. These address roles are different from your residential address or the place where you physically work. Our guide to registered-office and business addresses explains the distinctions.
If you intend to use a London registered office, check that it suits your company's registration. For example, a company registered in Scotland must have its registered office in Scotland. The Companies House address requirements explain the rules.
Also confirm the business and recipient names the service will cover. Tell us about any trading names or additional companies before signing up, so the names on incoming envelopes match your account.
Think about what you will do when a letter arrives, rather than choosing solely by subscription price:
For example, a consultant who travels between client sites may find emailed scans convenient. Someone who regularly needs original documents may prefer forwarding or Combo. Our scanning versus forwarding guide goes into more detail.
Have your preferred email address and, where relevant, your forwarding destination ready. If you expect unusual items, substantial mail volumes or deliveries abroad, ask us about the arrangements before choosing your package.
Compare the monthly and annual options for your chosen mail service, including VAT and any additional charges. There is no separate CVH setup fee. Mail Forwarding and Combo require an upfront postage deposit of £30 + VAT; forwarding postage is charged separately.
The current package prices show what each subscription includes. Read the service terms too, including cancellation, accepted mail and account requirements. Choose the billing period that suits your plans, then complete the online signup.
We will contact you for the information and identification documents needed to set up your account. Be ready to provide accurate business details and the requested evidence of identity and address. Follow the instructions you receive rather than relying on a generic document checklist: the information needed can depend on your circumstances.
Keep the signup email address monitored and respond to any follow-up questions. If you are setting up a new company and want the address in place before incorporation, tell our team before you register it so we can confirm the appropriate sequence.
CVH's account checks are separate from Companies House identity verification. Directors and people with significant control should follow the official Companies House verification guidance for their role; opening a virtual-office account does not complete that process.
Completing payment does not mean your address is ready to use. Your account becomes active after the required information has been received and accepted and we have confirmed activation.
Wait for that confirmation before putting the address on company records, your website or stationery, or asking anyone to send mail there. Setup time depends on receiving and checking the required information.
Once activated, use the agreed recipient names and address format when updating your business details. Check each organisation's requirements rather than assuming every address field means the same thing.
Make sure the person responsible for business correspondence can access the email inbox receiving scans or collect the forwarded mail at its destination. Keep your contact and forwarding details current. If you are moving from another provider, use our address and mail handover checklist to plan the change.
A virtual business address can also suit a sole trader. Tell us how your business is structured and which names you use so we can confirm the arrangement. Our sole trader address guide explains what to check.
No. Arranging an address and mail service does not incorporate a company. If you plan to form one, arrange permission to use the address before completing the company registration.
Compare CVH's monthly and annual packages to choose how you would like your business mail handled. If you are unsure about your address use, company setup or mail requirements, talk to our team before signing up.
