Once you have chosen how you want your business mail handled, there is another practical decision: pay monthly or choose an annual plan?
Annual billing can reduce the subscription cost over a full year. Monthly billing spreads the payments and can suit a business whose plans are still changing. The better choice depends on how long you expect to need the address, what you can comfortably pay upfront and the cancellation terms.
Here is how to compare the two using City Virtual Hub’s current mail packages.
Choose the mail-handling option before the billing term. Do you want the contents of your letters emailed to you, the physical mail forwarded to your chosen address, or both?
For the same CVH mail package, choosing monthly or annual billing does not change its core address and mail-handling inclusions. Paying annually for forwarding will not add scanning. If you need both, compare the Combo options.
Our guide to what a virtual-office package includes covers the wider service comparison. This guide focuses on the payment decision once you know what you need.
CVH’s published annual mail-package prices are equivalent to ten monthly subscription payments. That gives you twelve months of the selected service for the price of ten, compared with paying the current monthly rate for a full year.
All figures above exclude VAT and compare subscription fees only, using prices checked on 24 October 2026. Forwarding postage and other applicable charges are separate. Check the current package prices before signing up.
The saving assumes you need the service for all twelve months. If you only expect to use it for a short period, compare the payments for that likely period, allowing for the cancellation notice, rather than treating a full-year saving as money you will necessarily save.
A monthly plan may suit you when the business is testing a new arrangement. You might be moving away from a physical office, starting a project, or still deciding how you want to receive your post.
It also spreads the subscription payments. That can be useful when keeping cash available for equipment, stock or other early business costs matters more than reducing the full-year subscription total.
Monthly billing still has terms. It does not mean you can stop paying without notice. Before choosing it, check the payment date and how the cancellation notice is calculated so you can budget for the final payment if your plans change.
An annual plan is worth considering when you expect to keep the address and chosen mail service for the coming year, and paying the annual subscription upfront fits your budget.
For example, an established consultant who works from home and expects to keep the same Soho correspondence address may be comfortable choosing a full year. The subscription saving then supports an arrangement they already intend to maintain.
Be more cautious if you are likely to close the business, change provider or stop needing the service soon. A lower monthly equivalent is useful only alongside a commitment that suits your circumstances.
CVH’s Terms and Conditions specify written cancellation notice of one full calendar month from the payment due date. They also state that annual plans which have commenced are not refunded, except where required by applicable consumer rights. Read the current terms before committing, and ask our team to clarify the dates if anything is unclear.
There is no separate setup fee. Mail Forwarding and Combo require an upfront postage deposit of £30 + VAT, with forwarding postage charged separately. Include that deposit when planning the amount you need at signup; it is separate from the subscription comparison above.
If you think you may need a different mail service partway through the year, ask how that would be handled before choosing your billing term.
Ask yourself three questions: which mail service will I actually use, how confident am I that I will need it for twelve months, and which payment pattern fits my business?
Compare the monthly and annual packages, or tell our team how you plan to use the service. When you are ready, our virtual-office setup guide explains the next steps. Complete signup and the required checks, then wait for activation confirmation before using your new address.
